At Arthur Kaplan we know how important it is to choose the right diamond. We’ve listed the 4 C’s of Diamonds, these will help guide you through your journey to picking your dream diamond.
Arguably the most important part of your diamond – the cut. Your diamond’s sparkle and shine comes from it’s cut. It is important to remember that without a high cut grade, even a high-quality diamond can appear dull and dreary.
Next up, your diamond colour!
Diamond colour is the second most important part of choosing your diamond. Colourless and clear diamonds are those of the highest quality. Lower quality diamonds may appear more yellow or brown in colour.
Don’t get confused over this one. Diamond carat refers to your diamond’s weight, not necessarily size. Remember to take your diamond’s cut into mind when comparing carat sizes. If your high-carat diamond has a poor cut grade, it may appear smaller than a diamond with smaller carat weight and better cut!
Diamonds can get small flaws on its surface and internally. Your diamond’s clarity is measured on these and is the least important factor when choosing your diamond. Most diamonds have imperfections, and these are microscopic. Diamonds with the least or smallest flaws are awarded the highest clarity grades.
